Letter to the Editor: Following the tragic death of four year old Alice Stones by a dangerous, uncontrolled dog I felt compelled to write to address the lack of accountability and responsibility taken by local authorities.

As a grandparent of four treasured young souls, the thought of them coming to harm fills me with dread.

Repeated escalations regarding an uncontrolled dog to Cinderford Town Council and Two Rivers Housing have lacked any substantive demonstration of caring for the community.

What does it take for these ‘so say’ empowered and professional organisations to put the safety of the community first?

An empty statement by a local councillor on television following a tragic incident can be prevented if something is done now.

Who is willing to take action?
