Initially the British Government refused to allow the US to use British bases for its unprovoked attack on Iran. Then it denounced Iran for retaliating against US military targets in the Middle East. ‘We can hit you but if you defend yourself, you are a terrorist’. The victim became the perpetrator. The world was turned on its head.

The Iran conflict was never about a nuclear bomb. It was always about ‘regime change’ and the Israeli desire to create a ‘Greater Israel’. They assassinated Khamenei and his baby granddaughter. They justified it by denouncing Khamenei as ‘evil’. They created a martyr.

Tens of millions turned out on the streets in his memory. The notion that ‘the people’ would rebel and displace the regime is unlikely. Even the banned Tudeh – the Iranian Communist Party - which had campaigned for an end to the theocratic regime denounced the US/Israeli ‘decapitation’ strike.

The western propaganda machine helped to provoke this. It failed. The US/Israel will try again to infiltrate their terrorists into Iran to destabilise it while it is weakened. They will strangle Iran with sanctions and drown it in blood.

The deliberate targeting of a school in which 160 young girls were slaughtered follows the pattern established in Gaza. The logic is Satanic – the logic of pure terror. If it succeeds, more refugees will flood our shores.

Labour’s silence over the Gaza genocide sparked the electoral defeat it took in the by-election held on Thursday 26th February. Labour had held the seat for almost 100 years. The Greens took it with a huge swing towards them.

On the coat tails of Mandelson and Epstein, voters wanted to get as far away from Labour as they could. Gaza did for them. Voting Labour was like holding hands with a leper.

The illegal war against Iran will add fuel to the fire. If the USA is stupid enough to get sucked into another ‘Forever War’, it could mean the end of the US Empire. We should be distancing the country from the degenerate thug Trump. It makes us a target.

Starmer and Mandelson believed that socialists in the Labour Party could just be pushed aside and Labour would win an election by appealing to right wing ‘Reform’ voters because its traditional socialist supporters had no-where else to go. Now they do.

The Greens have openly embraced socialist politics and call themselves a Left-Wing Party critical of racist Israel. Predictably they have been branded as ‘antisemites’ by Reform.

Doesn’t it take some chutzpah to accuse the Jewish leader of the Greens of being an antisemite?

Farage and his alliance with the pro-Israel lobby is poisoning British politics. Hard line Zionists expect those it funds to support Israel. The legions of ‘Friends of Israel’ are agents for a foreign government. If they were Friends of Russia or China, it would never be tolerated.

The rest of the world once admired our genteel retreat from Empire. Now all they have for us is contempt for our hypocrisy.
