How do we begin to deal with a prime minister who refuses to accept that a genocide is going on in Gaza and fails to take any meaningful action against his ally Israel to stop it?

Gaza will hang like an albatross around the neck of Labour until either the LP disappears or until Starmer is replaced by someone with a record of decency. In future ANY debate about the record of this Government will be answered with just one word – ‘Gaza’, just as Blairs record was met with ‘Iraq’.

In the last Parliamentary debate on the situation in Gaza, MP after MP right across the House demanded that the Foreign Secretary take more forceful action. He mixed crocodile tears with reassurances that he was doing all he could. It did not convince. It is not only Starmer who is damned. His Foreign Secretary will be dammed too. This is a man of colour who readily wears his anti-imperialist credentials when it comes to criticising Russia for its intervention in Ukraine, but who prevaricates on Gaza.

The Home Secretary who wears the suffragette sash to declare her admiration and support of those early campaigners for the vote passes a law that would have branded them as ‘terrorists’ and seen them packed off to prison for up to 14 years.

When Governments become unpopular, discontent falls on a single issue. With Labour, Gaza will be it. There is increasing frustration in the Labour Party and history shows that when this erupts it does so in an explosion of anger and retribution, like piranhas in a feeding frenzy. It will then become acceptable to savage Starmer and blame everything that has gone wrong for Labour on him.

What kind of world is it in which Israeli snipers using high powered rifles deliberately shoot toddlers in the head, chest and genitals and where their tiny limbs are amputated without anaesthetic? What do you say to a five year old child who asks his father if his arm will grow back again?

The people who do this have been worked up into hateful rage by lies and propaganda. This is what happened in Germany in the 1930s – AGAINST Jews. How on earth did it ever come to this?

Throughout the world there are mass demonstrations taking place virtually every day condemning Israel, but it dismisses them as ‘antisemitic’. Here in Britain, Jewish Voice for Labour is at the forefront.

Now there are demonstrations in the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem by Jewish Israeli’s demanding the end to enforced starvation and rampant murder. Throughout the world, Jews are increasingly condemning Israel and are in the forefront of the campaign to stop the genocide. Israel has lost them.

People now realise that the allegations of antisemitism used to remove Jeremy Corbyn and weaponised by the political careerists that support Starmer were groundless. To say that criticism of Israel is antisemitic is a lie. It is a lie nailed by Gaza.
