IT may be some time since Harry Potter author JK Rowling attended Wyedean School, but following its 'Inadequate' inspection grading it can no longer live off its past glories.
Staff at Wyedean School and Sixth Form Centre, with 1,145 pupils, were 'very surprised' to be told that they had been placed in special measures.
The Ofsted report, the first since the school became an academy in September 2011, stated that the teaching was not strong enough across the school, especially in English.
