THE Wyedean Rally will not take place next February after being dropped by the British Trials and Rally Drivers Association due to safety concerns.
The most watched single sporting event in the Forest has been deemed ’too difficult’ to control by the drivers association who say they have taken the decision in light of stricter safety regulations.
The Motor Sports Association, the governing body of motor sport in the UK, introduced stricter regulations in March this year, but the Forest of Dean Motorclub is disappointed it wasn’t given the chance to implement them.
Phil Turley, president of the Forest of Dean Motor Club told The Forester that there will be a rally of some description held in the area next year.
