AFTER years of speculation, Gloucestershire College has formally confirmed its intention to move its Five Acre campus to Cinderford, as part of the Northern Quarter development.
This week, the college revealed designs for a new £14 million, 7,200sq metre campus.
The designs include facilities for a vocational training college, a sixth form centre and central hub for both the college and the wider community.
The designs feature large glass panels to maximise the views – providing a glimpse of what the proposed independent sixth form college, jointly developed and run by Gloucestershire College and Dene Magna School, might look like.
Work on the new campus, subject to planning applications, is due to start in Spring 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by August 2015.
Lynne Craig, Royal Forest of Dean campus site principal, said: "There is still a long way to go, but our key focus is to create a fantastic modern further education learning environment to help local learners reach their full potential."
