WALKING the dog at Wenchford early this morning to beat the heat, I also happened to beat the clean-up crew and came across an absolute mess of rubbish.

The Forestry Commission provides and maintains the facilities here at their own cost, with no charge to the public.

A large bin might help, and would at least the make job easier for the cleaners.

Some time ago there was a suggestion that pay and display parking might be introduced at Wenchford as it is at Mallards Pike and Beechenhurst. Sounds like a very good idea so that the users (and abusers) of the site would be making some contribution towards the costs of cleaning up their rubbish.

Also, I assume that part of the revenue from Discovery Passes goes towards clean-up costs. This means that the local people who purchase a pass are subsidising those who use the site for free.
