GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police is appealing for witnesses to a collision which happened on the A4136 between Nailbridge and Brierley.
A woman had to be cut free from the wreckage of her blue Fiat Panda that had gone over into the embankment on the A4136.
The incident between the former Swan Inn at Brierley and Hawkwell was reported to the emergency services at 11.30am on Wednesday, November 16.
Fire crews from Cinderford were in attendance along with two ambulance crews and Gloucestershire Police who blocked the road off at Nailbridge and at Brierley.
Fire crews spent almost an hour trying to free the trapped woman, who was later treated for her injuries at the scene by paramedics and taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol after sustaining a serious leg injury.
The road was closed for over four hours to allow for an accident investigation to be carried out.
A number of heavy goods lorries and a double decker bus were trapped behind the incident.
Officers are keen to speak to a woman who was travelling in a red vehicle who they believe may have witnessed the incident.
