I READ with interest your front page The Coleford Forester August 4 headlined 'Bid to evict bowling club'.

When will the committee of Angus Buchanan grow up – do they ask the residents of Coleford what they want? No. The rec was paid for by public subscription for the people of Coleford and neighbourhood, not just for children as stated.

Do you know the following:

These have been turned down by the committee – skate boarding park, BMX track, Berryhill RFC. A local resident offered to repair the gate – free of charge.

The town council wanted to build a new pavilion at the King George V Playing Field – access was refused.

Good luck to the town council and bowling club in your court cases.

Come on Coleford residents, demand an extraordinary general meeting and get this committee out and put in a new committee that were actually born and bred in Coleford.
