I KNOW young people can be irritating and the older one gets the greater the irritation. This must mean that the people who objected to the display in the Newent Chill-out Zone must be positively antediluvian.
I fail to see why a bit of youthful humour can possibly warrant the massive fine of £4,000. Possibly they were just looking for an excuse to save the money.
The poster might not be to everyone's taste but is pretty innocuous in today's permissive climate – whether it was by Banksy or anyone else is irrelevant.
Tell the Scrooges, even if it is not Christmas, to stop being stupid and give them the money. If the Zone had to close then there would be more complaints about young people being on the streets causing nuisance. How short-sighted can you get?
