CAMPAIGNERS are waiting with baited breath for F -Day – the day when Environment Minister Owen Paterson announces the Government's vision for the Forest of Dean.

It is widely anticipated that the Government will be outlining its official response to the Bishop of Liverpool's report to MPs on Thursday.

Leading campaigners from all over the country are heading to London in anticipation of any statement to the Commons.

Parliamentary protocol dictates that the Secretary of State or Forestry Minister David Heath tells MPs what the Government are planning first.

Ministers had said they would deliver a response to the Independent Panel's recommendations by the end of January.

Although Thursday is the last day of the month, officials could not confirm the exact day of the announcement to MPs.

But campaigners are hoping to meet with the Government to discuss the response as soon as it is announced.
