I WOULD just like to convey two complaints regarding gritting in Cinderford during the past week.

1. Gritting Bin Disappears in Victoria Street Cinderford:

It was to my and my neighbour's dismay that I found the salt bin by the Forge Hammer Inn, Cinderford had been removed. He told me that he rang the council and they told him, the reason why it was removed was because the road was being gritted by the council.

This is absolutely ridiculous as Victoria Street runs parallel with the old Victoria Street and to get onto the road grit is needed.

Some of the residents of Hodges Way clubbed together and purchased a few bags of salt and cleared the road themselves. Surely they can claim the money back from the Forest of Dean District Council?

2. Snowbound Co-op car park, Cinderford:

I was so amazed when I tried to pull into the Co-op car park in Cinderford last week: what a disgrace! The snow and ice hadn't been removed.

I don't think Cinderford Co-op is the 'Caring Sharing Co-op' as we are led to believe.

To the management: You have the Post Office in your store and a lot of elderly people have to visit it. Look after your local customers. Lidl do – and what a clean car park they had. Well done Lidl.
