Cinderford Town manager Paul Weeks has quit the club he has rejuvenated over the past two seasons.
Weeks announced his decision after Town's final match of the season, a 2-0 defeat at Almondsbury, ironically the team he left to join the Causeway club in late September 2009.
The 38-year-old told the Cinderford board he could not continue to give the job his full focus because of work and family commitments.
His assistant, Steve Peters, who joined the club from Almondsbury with Weeks, will take charge with Brad Andrews as assistant and Danny Haines as coach.
When Weeks came to The Causeway Cinderford were in dire straits, at the bottom of the league without a point.
They end this season in a comfortable mid table position having achieved 16 wins and eight draws, 11 points short of a place in the promotion play-offs.
Cinderford Town spokesman Stuart Tait said the club would not be commenting on the resignation of Weeks, apart from a statement issued on Tuesday.
It reads: "It is with regret that the board of Cinderford Town announce that it has been notified that Paul Weeks wishes to relinquish his role as manager with immediate effect.
"Paul notified the board of his decision, which was mainly due to the fact he felt he could not give the manager's role the commitment it deserved due to work and family commitments. This alone underlines the stature of Paul. The board are proud of his achievements, alongside Steve, this season. They have put Cinderford Town AFC back on the map as a club to be reckoned with.
"The board would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Paul for the tireless work he has put in during his 18 months as manager. We are also pleased Paul wishes to remain at the club to assist us in creating a new football framework going forward.
"It gives the board the greatest pleasure in announcing that Steve Peters has taken the role of manager with Brad Andrews as his assistant and Danny Haines as coach.
"The board wishes them the best of luck for the future as they have a great opportunity to build on the work done by Paul and Steve in the last 18 months."
