CINDERFORD TOWN manager Paul Weeks is keeping his players on their toes during the current cold snap by making them train at different venues.

The players had a session on the all-weather pitch at Heywood School on Saturday, plus another session indoors at Mitcheldean.

They also used Hanham High School in Bristol and, following the postponement of Tuesday night's Southern League Cup match with Stourbridge, enjoyed a spin class in Cardiff.

Weeks said: "Because everywhere is booked up you've got to use what you can get. It doesn't hurt to mix things up because our players come from all over the place."

One player keeping warm is Peter Macklin, who has flown out to Australia and won't be back until January 3.

Weeks added: "Most of the players are as fresh as daisies and the break has given a few the chance to get over niggling injuries."

Cinderford will try and play their cup game at home to Stourbridge next Tuesday, December 21. It's already been called off three times.

"I want to get it played because Tom Billing is suspended and I'd like him back for the league," said Weeks.

"We'll end up with a backlog of games but we're used to that. It's no big deal."
