Mangotsfield Utd 3

Cinderford Town 2

CINDERFORD manager Paul Weeks says his players must show more belief.

The Foresters looked certain to earn a valuable point in Bristol on Monday night after fighting back to 2-2 from 2-0 down.

However, they conceded a third goal in the eighth minute of added time to undo all of their good work.

Weeks said: "We outplayed Paulton on Saturday, but Mangotsfield created more than us.

"To be fair, they've missed some golden chances. We were sitting too deep and not clearing our lines.

"We weren't at the races in the first-half, but we got back to 2-2 and looked sure to nick a point.

"Ben John has launched the ball 50 or 60 yards and the ref is looking at his watch. Somehow, we've allowed the ball to come all the way back and they've got a goal. It's unforgivable."

Cinderford gave a debut to Jamie Baldwin (pictured), who has joined the club from Forest Green Rovers.

Baldwin, usually a centre-half, was deployed in a midfield role.

Mangotsfield took the lead through Mitchell Page on 10 minutes.

Matt Groves doubled the lead a minute into the second-half, but Town levelled with two great goals from the ever-improving Nick McCootie.

Mangotsfield sub Andy Gurney won the game for his side with a late strike just seconds from time.

Paul Weeks added: "It's a joke that we had to play a tough game against Paulton two days ago and Mangotsfield didn't have a game.

"How fair is that? Of course they were going to be fresher.

"A lot of my players have heavy legs, but we'll be OK.

"We've got Sholing (the league leaders on Saturday) but bring them on.

"We'll be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

"On paper I think we've got the best side in the league."
