Army cadets and their instructors from Coleford and Cinderford Platoons went on the run with back packs to raise money for the soldiers' charity The Warrior Programme.

They took part in the Forest of Dean Half Marathon on Sunday and were led by Serjeant Sean Gane, 42, from Steam Mills, who is an adult instructor with Cinderford Army Cadets.

He ran in full kit and carried a 40lb bergen in aid of the charity which is dedicated to helping men and women who have suffered from trauma after returning from active service.

Colour Serjeant Mark Evans, 36 who runs Coleford Army Cadets and Cadet Josh Gwynne, 17 also from Coleford ran in fancy dress. They were joined by work colleague Steph Mason, who works for Gloucestershire Police as a PCSO.
