VICAR Nick Bromfield says he does not know how the people who desecrated a war memorial ahead of Remembrance Sunday 'can look themselves in the mirror'.

Wreaths laid by Royal British Legion members at Forest Church, Drybrook, were stolen from the memorial, along with the flagpole and the Union flag.

Reverend Bromfield said his parishioners were 'outraged'.

"People are so incensed that someone could desecrate a war memorial," he said.
