A VOLUNTEER-RUN radio station celebrated its second birthday last week.

Based in the heart of Cinderford at the Miners Hall, Dean Radio is a radio station by the people for the people. Dean Radio 105.6FM aims to bring the local community together by sharing stories, successes and events combined with the great music and chat.

On August 24 the station celebrated its second birthday and celebrated with socially distanced cake cutting and some team photos.

Dean Radio, which is run by volunteers, was launched in 2018 and has continued to air throughout lockdown.

“Two years in and hopefully many more to come thanks to the sheer hard work of our volunteers and supporters in bringing local radio back to the heart of the community,” says Dean Radio director Daren Green. “It’s a great team and a great station. Please get in touch if you’d like to join us.”
