MARK Awre, whose family has lived in the historic village of Awre since the 16th Century, says 'without some change happening in Awre this village will soon die'. His stark words were said during a planning debate, relating to an application to build a pair of semi-detached homes on derelict land facing the village's war memorial. Mr Awre, representing Awre Parish Council, said: "I grew up in this village, but went to work in the States in the mid 1960s and returned in 2002 when I immediately noticed at least 13 dwellings having disappeared.
