POLICE closed a road in Broadwell after an electricity pole caught fire.

Residents were treated to a light show two weeks shy of November 5 when wires shorted out on the pole causing bright flashes and smoke to pour out.

Western Power isolated electricity to the pole after it began shorting out at 11.55am today and firefighters from Coleford were called out to put out the fire.
