POLICE are hunting two men after an horrific knife attack a van driver in Cinderford on Wednesday afternoon.

A 44-year-old man was driving a white van on Station Road, near the junction of Colliers Field, at 5.10pm when a midnight blue Vaxuhall Astra, possibly with tinted windows, pulled up in front of the van.

Two men leapt out of the Astra and assaulted the van driver, causing knife lacerations to the driver’s hands and chest.

Medics were called to the scene and stiched up the man’s injuires, which were not believed to be serious.

The attackers then jumped back into their car and drove off at speed along Station Street.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that can help police with their enquiries.
