THE news that St Briavels is to get renewable energy from a wind turbine, after villagers gave the plan their full support, is something to celebrate.
We should all congratulate farmer Anthony Cooke, who has teamed up with the Resilience Centre, on his plan to use green energy.
It's the way we should all be going, and a great example for other Foresters.
Oil and gas won't last for ever, and we must find other ways of heating and lighting our homes if we are to survive.
Not only will the turbine supply power to up to 180 homes, the community could get new jobs and benefit financially as well.
The energy supplied is green, clean and won't harm the environment or wildlife.
Well done to the members of the development control committee who voted this through.
This pioneering plan is a lesson to us all.
