TOWN'S pre-season build-up continued with this hard fought win over a determined Goytre outfit on Saturday.

Centre-forward Mike Whittington shot against the bar following a fine Matt Barnes run and cross as Cinderford started the game positively.

Strike partner Will Loughman was also a threat, earning an eighth minute penalty for his side which Whittington coolly slotted.

The Welsh side gradually grew in confidence, going close on a couple of occasions, before deservedly equalising through French.

Five minutes before half-time Walters gave Goytre the lead after Town failed to clear.

Nick McCootie again made an impact from the bench in the second half, heading home a Craig Trait free-kick.

Goytre continued to look threatening in front of goal with Shannon and Walters both squandering good opportunities.

Cinderford made them pay for their poor finishing five minutes from time when former Hereford United youth player Ashley Malcolm sped past a couple of opponents and struck a sweet left-footed effort into the net.
