Wimborne Town 0
Cinderford Town 2
A GOAL in each half from Lewis Sommers helped Cinderford return to winning ways at Wimborne.
Manager Steve Peters said: "It was comfortable on Saturday and it was a happy bus on the way back."
Lowly Wimborne tried hard to make a game of it on Saturday but struggled to find an end product to their passing game.
Sommers broke the deadlock on 23 minutes by tapping in from the edge of the six-yard box.
His second goal came on 66 minutes, but Town had plenty of other chances to kill the game off.
Peters said: "Wimborne had some good individuals and they passed the ball well but once we went 1-0 up their heads dropped.
"I thought Lewis Sommers and Nick McCootie were excellent for us and so were the wide boys, Matt Barnes and Dean Lee. .
"At the back we were very solid again.
"Ashley Malcolm has come into the side and really taken his chance. With Warren Archer almost back to full fitness he's given me a headache.
"Greg Lewis has got himself fit and forged a real partnership in the centre of defence with Andy Lewis, who is probably the fittest player I've ever seen in non-league football. If he wasn't a footballer he'd be an athlete.
"Dan Harrison, one of the best centre-backs in the league on his day, is sat on the bench and champing at the bit but I can't fault the boys who are playing at the back."
Cinderford Town: Ben John, Ashley Malcolm, Greg Lewis, Andy Lewis, Matt Smith, Matt Barnes, Nick Hancock, Dale Evans (capt), Dean Lee, Lewis Sommers, Nick McCootie. Subs: Warren Archer, Josh Egan, Dan Harrison, Brad Andrews.
