IT was tough going for anglers in the first round of the Royal Forest Pairs Championship at Lydney Lake, with no one breaking the pound barrier!
At Steam Mills, venue expert Bernie Fraser led the way again from peg 17. He winkled out two big bream and some decent roach for a 18-4-0 haul.
Butcher's Hook angler Chris Peters claims to dislike Steam Mills but it didn't show on Sunday as he feeder-fished his way to second spot, again with a decent return of bream and roach (13-10-0).
Club fisheries officer Dennis Sherwood was the only other angler to break 10 pounds.
In the pairs stakes, Roger Jones and Simon Glover take an early lead.
