HEROIN worth hundreds of pounds has been seized by police in Coleford.

Three men, aged 38, 39 and 40, were arrested at an address in St John's Street on Tuesday as 14 police officers swooped.

The raid has been hailed as a significant breakthrough by Inspector Richard Boyles , who said: "This was part of an ongoing operation designed to disrupt drug dealers in the area.

"I hope it shows Foresters that we take drug crime very seriously and will take tough action where necessary."

The men, arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, have been released on bail.
