A LOCALLY-MADE horror film that first screened as a 30-minute test version in Cinderford back in April is now returning in full, and this time audiences will watch it inside the very location where it was filmed.

The Third Shift: A Paranormal Horror Story, now completed with a 71-minute runtime, will be shown inside the chapel at Gloucester Prison on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29.

The special screenings will also include a guided tour of the prison’s key filming locations and sets featured in the movie. The event is strictly for over 18s and is expected to draw strong interest from both local film fans and those fascinated by the paranormal.

The film, created by directors Clive Barzillia and Ricky Gunter, is presented in a found-footage style and follows five paranormal investigators who enter Gloucester Prison for an unguided overnight ghost hunt.

With the group locked inside the former jail until morning, they set out hoping to capture signs of supernatural activity. What unfolds is far more intense than anything they anticipated, with the abandoned corridors and cells playing a central role in the story.

Ricky Gunter said: “The Third Shift a Paranormal Horror Story is a found footage style movie about 5 paranormal investigators who enter Gloucester prison for an unguided overnight ghost hunt.”

The film’s original 30-minute version was screened at the Palace Cinema in Cinderford earlier this year to raise funds for the venue and gather feedback ahead of completing the final feature-length cut. That initial showing helped build early interest in the project, particularly among local residents who were keen to support a homegrown film.

With the movie now fully finished, the creators say that showing it inside Gloucester Prison adds a new layer of immersion, placing audiences directly into the environment where the events of the story take place.
