A MASSIVE police search was sparked after a potentially explosive cocktail of dangerous chemicals was stolen from a firm in Whitecroft
Officers closed Pillowell Road and cordoned off two homes while searching for 60 litres of hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid as well as an unknown quantity of potassium cyanide.
It is believed the chemicals were stolen from Whitecroft Essentials – formerly known as Prym – between the evening of Tuesday, September 11 and the following morning .
Scenes of Crime Officers examined a home in Pillowell Road on Thursday and were seen taking photos of the area.
Other officers went searching in the undergrowth for the acids, which were in 30 gallon drums, as well as the cyanide.
An 18-year-old of no fixed abode, has appeared before magistrates charged with burglary.
