Lydney v Charlton Kings
LYDNEY'S tail-enders showed plenty of fighting spirit to turn this game on its head when the match looked lost.
Needing 183 to win, Lydney lost a string of middle order wickets in quick succession to the bowling of new ball pair Adam Russell (4-44) and Lloyd Arkell (3-53).
However, Peter Glynn, Mark Bonser and James Bishop came to the rescue with some assured batting down the order.
Number eight Glynn made 41 from 50 balls, hitting six fours and a six, while Bonser's 27 not out from 51 balls was more sedate but every bit as valuable.
When Glynn was caught by Russell off the bowling of Trouw, James Bishop came in to carry things on, scoring 15 not out from 11 balls. Lydney scored the winning run with 10 balls to spare.
Glynn also had a good day with the ball, returning figures of 12-1-37-3 to help restrict Kings to 179 all out. Spinner James Legge took 2-30 from 11 overs and Paul Morris 3-58.
