IT was with some amusement that I read of the objections by residents of Newland regarding planning permission for stables.

Surely horses and, therefore, stables are an integral part of rural life and living?

Perhaps the objectors should consider living somewhere more suitable for themselves and their attitudes such as the middle of a city – there are no stables or horses there.
