TWO outlets at Cinderford’s Pavilion Business Park, took part in this year’s Record Store Day celebration of the vinyl record.

For Ceritech Audio, it was the company’s third participation in the world-wide annual event.

This year it was blessed with warm sunshine, in contrast to last year, when owners Simon and Samantha Jackson opened half an hour early because people were queueing in snow blizzard conditions.

“It was a vey good day with several hundred people coming through the door to buy vinyl records,” said Samantha.

“The best selling records this year were Wild Willy Barrett, Altered Images and Julian Cope.

“This was our third year of participation and we will definitely taking part again next year.”

Owner of Forest Vinyl, Steve Helsdown said that a lot of people were interested in the 500 exclusive releases that had been made available for Record Store Day including Maximo Park’s latest release on clear vinyl with red and yellow splashes and live albums from David Bowie, a triple live album from Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression gig and The Cure’s greatest hits on deluxe vinyl.
