MUSICIAN John Slinger says he is alarmed that his former school is considering reducing the staffing levels of its music department - calling the decision an 'act of cultural vandalism'.
John Slinger, who now lives in Rugby, is currently involved in organising a series of rock concerts throughout the UK.
He says he was inspired to pursue a career in music after attending Newent Community School in the 1980s /90s.
However, he believes music might no longer be taught in the school.
