I WOULD like to thank the hundreds of Cinderford residents who took the opportunity to comment on Rothdean and Sainsbury's proposals for the town. Feedback is still being received, but so far around 96 per cent of respondents support our proposed investment.

Sainsbury's first store in the Forest of Dean will help Cinderford residents enjoy quality products at fair prices - without sacrificing their values. Week in, week out, they'll receive the best possible quality for the money they have to spend on their shopping. And with Brand Match, residents can enjoy shopping at Sainsbury's in the knowledge that they'll never pay more for brands than at Asda and Tesco.

Our commitment to providing quality training and career opportunities and playing our part in the communities we serve is real and tangible.

Since 2005, our 'Active Kids' scheme has donated £1.1 million worth of sports equipment and experiences to schools and clubs in Gloucestershire.

Specific to Cinderford, up to 270 local people could begin a new career and experience quality training and development opportunities with the UK's first ever supermarket operator to receive Gold accreditation from Investors in People. We're proud of the role our stores and colleagues play in their local communities.

Cinderford residents have an important role to play in ensuring current and future generations benefit from developments proposed in the town. We believe that the applications for these developments should be heard at a single planning committee, to ensure councillors can make a fully informed decision for the lasting benefit of Cinderford. Everyone we spoke to at our exhibition agreed.

We'd encourage readers to visit http://www.sainsburys-cinderford.co.uk">www.sainsburys-cinderford.co.uk or call 0800 130 3270 to learn more about our plans and provide us with their feedback.
