BUS company Stagecoach will continue to be ‘held to account’ for their services after a meeting in Coleford on Monday saw frustrated members of the public and councillors quiz the company’s top two men.

Bus timetables and services across the Forest of Dean were changed for the start of September and caused resentment in some quarters.

And it was not just Stagecoach who were brought into focus on Monday night but Gloucestershire County Council, who awarded the contract earlier this year after a tender process and which is responsible for the bus stops and shelters around the Forest of Dean.

Stagecoach managing director Mr Rupert Cox and commercial manager Mr James O’Neill faced the public grilling at Coleford council offices.

In a presentation to the meeting, Mr Cox and Mr O’Neill told the 30-strong audience how the company conducted a consultation about delivering their services across the Forest when winning the franchise from Gloucestershire County Council.
