THE Dean Forest Cycling Club held its annual awards dinner at the Annexe, Lydney.
2010 was arguably the most successful in the club's 60 plus year history.
There was a fanfare as chairman Matt Heaman introduced the club's two national champions Bob Parry and David Evans into the room to a standing ovation. Both men wore their national jerseys.
This year's special guest was Andy Cook from the Chippenham Wheelers club.
Andy came to the dinner direct from a 24 hour track fundraiser in aid of Children in Need. Matt Heaman spoke of the many highlights of the season, including another successful Enduro with Black Sheep Sports and the club's win in the Welsh Time-Trial Championships.
The evergreen Bob Parry received the Vintage Tankard for being the fastest veteran rider in the Inter-Club Challenge.
He wrestled the Lindsay Venner Memorial Trophy for the fastest 10 miles on a conventional set-up bike from his son Colin, and also won the red section of the CEBAR competition for best all-rounder in the top category.
Earl Smith became a senior and scored some terrific results, including victory in the 25 mile Senior Time-Trial Championship with an awesome PB of 52mins 50secs.
He received the veterans' 10, 25 and 50 mile time-trial awards.
David Evans earned three trophies for his best season yet on a bike. He won the Senior Hill Climb Championship, the 10 mile time-trial award and the Road Racing Trophy for a record time of 20mins 38secs.
Aly Rowell was named best female all-rounder in the CEBAR competition and women's hill climb champion.
