STAFF called in police after being forced to evacuate Newent Community School because pupils let off smoke bombs.
Four Year 11 students released the smoke bombs in the dining room on the day they were due to leave the school before the start of exams.
Acting headteacher Kirsten Harrison said such behaviour would not be tolerated and called in police to pursue those responsible for any damage to the dining hall.
And civic leaders and other youths have said their actions give young people in the town a bad name.
