A YOUNG driver who killed his girlfriend when he lost control of his sporty 'hot hatch' car was jailed for six years on Thursday.
Engineer Paul Reddan, whose 21st birthday was on Tuesday, had shown no remorse over the death of 19-year-old Leanne Davies - described in court by her mum as 'a beautiful, generous and bubbly young woman'.
Reddan himself was in hospital for three weeks after the crash.
The collision happened moments after he had overtaken a 1.2 Renault Clio driven by 19-year-old Matthew Creed.
Reddan, of Stafford Close, Broadwell and Creed, of Glen Oak, Brierley, had both pleaded not guilty to causing LEanne's death by dangerous driving on the A4136 in Longhope on May 31 last year.
