CHILDREN and families in Sedbury were treated to a lively and educational morning at the village hall field as the Forest of Dean Neighbourhood Policing team joined local organisations to host a community event.

The event was designed to provide youngsters with engaging activities while also giving parents and residents a chance to learn about safety initiatives in the area.

PC Evans and PCSO Coe, accompanied by Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Evans, spent the morning meeting local families, answering questions, and helping run the various activities on offer.

The event kicked off with a breakfast club, giving children a chance to start the day with a healthy meal before enjoying a range of interactive experiences.

One of the highlights was a visit from the Skillzone tour, which provides hands-on activities aimed at teaching young people about crime prevention and personal safety.

Meanwhile, the Gloucestershire Fire Service gave children a chance to try on firefighting gear, learn about fire safety, and chat with officers about their work. The interactive nature of the demonstrations kept children engaged throughout the morning.

Sam from Sedbury Space also helped run activities, ensuring there was plenty for children to enjoy. Parents and relatives were able to speak directly with officers, asking questions about local policing, community safety, and the initiatives designed to support young people in the area.

After the morning’s events in Sedbury, PCSO Coe visited a Police Information Point in nearby Woolaston. During the visit, Coe took a walk around the village, meeting residents and listening to their concerns firsthand, demonstrating the ongoing commitment of the neighbourhood policing team to local communities.

The policing team praised the event, saying it was wonderful to see so many community activities taking place and congratulated all those involved for making the morning a success.
