STAFF and governors of a Forest primary school are working closely with Gloucestershire County Council to turn around a disappointing Ofsted rating.
Ruardean Primary School was judged to ‘require improvement’ following the Ofsted inspection in March.
The report highlighted three targets: to make sure teaching challenges the most able pupils consistently across a range of subjects; to ensure the teaching of writing is consistently good, particularly for disadvantaged pupils and those who have previously underachieved; and to maximise teaching and learning time throughout the school day.
It was noted that the leaders and governors had a good understanding of the school’s strengths and weaknesses, and had taken robust action to tackle many issues highlighted in a short inspection in February 2018.
