ROMAN artifacts have been uncovered by a group of archaeologists working on Ruardean Hill – the Dean's highest point.
Roman pottery has been discovered in a small enclosure that has been excavated.
"We think the enclosure is Roman in date, but may have originally been used in the late Iron Age," said Jon Hoyle, the archaeological survey's senior project officer.
"We hope to take some samples to give us some clue about the environment in which the enclosure was built."
