CHINESE takeaway worker Tony Kwok was stabbed twice by a 16- year-old robber who snatched his till containing £400, a court heard.
Mr Kwok was behind the counter in the Great Wall takeaway in Lydney when two youths burst in armed with knives, Gloucester Crown Court was told yesterday.
The 16-year-old Lydney youth, who cannot be named, leaned over the counter and stabbed Mr Kwok in the left wrist and the palm of the right hand before snatching the till, said prosecutor Julian Kesner.
The pair fled but were soon arrested because police had installed a CCTV camera in the takeaway following earlier trouble, Mr Kesner said.
The 16-year-old and Callum Lumber, 19, of no fixed address, both admitted robbing Mr Kwok of money on April 25 this year.
Lumber asked for 42 other offences, mainly of shed and outhouse burglary, to be considered and the 16-year-old wanted 21 other similar offences considered.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC sentenced them both to three years behind bars.
The court had been told that the takeaway was empty of customers when the pair robbed Mr Kwok at 8.35pm that night.
Mr Kwok's injuries were fortunately not serious and were treated with Steristrips, said Mr Kesner.
But Mr Kwok had been left feeling anxious and nervous about people coming into the takeaway, he said.
Mohammed Iqbal, for the 16-year-old, said he had been fully co-operative with police after his arrest. For Lumber, Emily Brazenall said they had both been drinking and taking drugs.
Her client had not actively participated in the robbery but had been carrying a knife, she said.
