MAN of the match Nev Codlin said the roar of the Cinderford crowd helped him squeeze over the line for his match-winning try against Stourbridge.
Cinderford overturned a 10 point deficit in the final 10 minutes, with Codlin powering over the whitewash from the very last play of the game.
Codlin said: "It makes a massive difference to have that roar behind you.
"You only get a split second to think, but when I got the ball I thought I might get held up.
"Having Chris McNeil right behind me helped me to get over. I thought Chris gave us an extra spark on Saturday and it was great to have him back.
"When it's a close decision like that you're looking at the ref and touch judge thinking 'please give it'.
"It was such a relief to see the arms go up.
"We felt we were owed one anyway, because we lost at Ealing to a late score that we didn't think was a try."
Saturday's victory lifted Cinderford out of the relegation places, but left Stourbridge at the foot of the league.
Codlin said some of the Cinderford players were frantically checking the other results on their phones straight after the match to see if the win had got them out of the bottom three.
He added: "I had a bad spell last week and made a couple of mistakes in the first half.
"It can be nerve wracking, but when the chances come in this league you have got to take them. It was a tense affair but even when we fell behind we kept going. Will Foden provided us with good impact from the bench.
"We knew we had to keep the penalty count down otherwise Mark Woodrow would hurt us.
"There's a lot of belief in our squad and we want to push on towards mid-table. It's a squad effort and we won't be sitting back.
"Like Deacs said to us, losing at home is no longer acceptable."
