REMARKABLE mother and daughter Beccy and Chloe Jones are raising money for the hospitals that helped them after both were diagnosed with cancer.

The Longhope family has been raising money for Frenchay and Gloucestershire Royal hospitals to say thank you to staff and to buy equipment.

Dene Magna pupil Chloe, 12, was diagnosed with a brain tumour last June and has to spend a couple of nights in hospital every few weeks, as well as having frequent, shorter check- ups.

Her mum Beccy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo a harsh regime of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in 2010, said the fundraising was a way of giving something back to those that had cared for them.

"We've been lucky with everything we've done to have such great support from our friends," she said.

So far Chloe's Appeal has raised £7,000 for the two hospitals.
