MEMBERS of the public are being encouraged to tune in to Gloucestershire Hospitals’ Annual Members Meeting (AMM) online this Thursday (October 27).
The AMM will provide an opportunity to learn more about the progress, challenges and opportunities facing the county’s main hospitals - Gloucestershire Royal, Cheltenham General and Stroud Maternity Unit - over the last year.
The meeting will be broadcast live on the trust’s YouTube channel from 3pm.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said of the event: “As well as reporting on last year’s performance the meeting is also an opportunity to learn more about our plans for the future.
“In particular we are investing more than £100 million on new buildings, equipment and transformational clinical practice as part of our vision to establish centres of excellence across both our acute hospitals.”
The trust announced the £101 million investment at the end of August, saying in a statement the expansion will help improve patient outcomes and reduce wait times.
Plans include a “significant” extention and redesign of the Emergency Department at Gloucester Royal.
