THE proposed out-of-town development at Steam Mills will not regenerate Cinderford. It will destroy it!
I am very suspicious of any development that will not add any facility to Cinderford that is not already there.
We have two supermarkets, the Co-op and Lidl and the college at Berry Hill is adequate.
Also, there is vacant land for development on the existing industrial site.
It seems to me that this is development for its own sake, or the sake of the pockets of the developers who care nothing for the consequences to the town.
Shame on the Labour district councillors who are supporting these developers.
What is needed is an alternative plan to really regenerate Cinderford using existing land within the town.
