DENNIS Potter's favourite brass band celebrated their rich heritage during a centenary fete staged by members.
Musicians pulled out all the stops for the anniversary event at Berry Hill Band Room last weekend.
But members warned that unless they get some new blood, they will not be around for much longer.
Chairman Roy Smith said some of his members have been playing in the band, one of the oldest in the Forest, for more than 60 years.
He said: "We desperately need new players of any age or ability to join us on Monday or Wednesday evenings.
"Without extra help, we will struggle to survive a hundred weeks let alone another hundred years."
The band was officially formed in 1911 when two local bands merged and it moved into its own premises in the 1970s.
Berry Hill boy Potter commissioned them to perform in a number of his plays and films including Cold Lazarus and Karaoke.
