A LEADING Forest councillor has accused Gloucestershire County Council of treating the district as the “poor relations” and a “forgotten.

But Shire Hall has hit back at the criticism from deputy leader of the Forest Council, Cllr Paul Hiett.

The Independent Alliance member for Bream slammed the Conservative-controlled Shire Hall administration at last week’s Cabinet meeting of the district authority, saying the Forest of Dean council had more in common with neighbouring councils than the one at Shire Hall in Gloucester.
