Gloucestershire Police are inviting members of the public to investigate the conditions under which their service dogs are being cared for as part of a national scheme.
The constabulary has adopted the Animal Welfare Independent Visitors Scheme, led by national charity Dog’s Trust, to better ensure that the dogs in their care for are housed, trained and transported in a ‘humane, ethical and transparent way’.
