FOREST business magnate Brian Bennett has been given a three month ultimatum to stop holding motocross events at Yorkley Court Farm or else face legal action.

Mr Bennett has been given an enforcement notice by Forest of Dean District Council to cease activities on two racetracks on the land by March 3.

The enforcement order was issued this week after Mr Bennett failed to meet a deadline to submit an appeal.

The racetracks were built without planning permission and residents have complained about noise nuisance from motorcyclists using the site.

The council’s senior planning enforcement officer said that the deadline to submit an appeal had expired and that a compliance site visit will be undertaken by officers on March 3, 2018, or shortly afterwards.

Mr Bennett also faces prosecution if he fails to return a listed farmhouse on the land to its original condition and cease the use of land surrounding the curtilage of listed outbuildings for a builders yard at the farm, by April 2019.

Despite repeated requests Mr Bennett has not issued The Forester with a comment on the issues raised.
