Forest of Dean planning applications announced
The Forest of Dean District Council has released its latest list of planning applications, with several proposals affecting listed buildings and conservation areas across the district.
Among the notable submissions is an application (P1265/25/LD1) to determine the legality of using stables and a riding arena for commercial horse boarding at Great Hoggins Farm, Bream Road, St Briavels. This proposal could impact the setting of a listed building.
Dean Valley Manor, located at The Fence in St Briavels, has applied for listed building consent (P1239/25/LBC) to install a suspended ceiling beneath the original lath and plaster ceiling in its commercial kitchen.
In Newnham, The Armoury Hall on Dean Road is seeking permission (P1117/25/FUL) for a first-floor rear extension, internal and external alterations, and the demolition of a non-original porch. This project affects both a conservation area and the setting of a listed building.
Mitcheldean’s High Street could see a transformation of two rear outbuildings at number 17, with a proposed change of use from residential to commercial, including an artist’s studio and small retail space (P1278/25/FUL).
Newent residents may notice changes at 8 Robinson Close, where plans (P1240/25/FUL) have been submitted for a first-floor extension and a detached therapy room outbuilding.
A major redevelopment is proposed for an industrial site behind High Street, Lydney. The application (P1236/25/FUL) includes converting a stone building into eight dwellings and demolishing existing commercial structures.
Finally, an outline application (P1176/25/OUT) has been submitted for Burway Farm, Rudford, proposing four new dwellings with landscaping and parking. The development does not align with the current local plan.
All applications are available for public inspection at the Council Offices in Coleford or online at www.fdean.gov.uk. Comments must be submitted in writing by 19 November 2025 and will be publicly accessible.

Claims against the estate of the late Daniel William Francis Carpenter, late of 18 The Keelings, Cinderford, who died on 26 May 2025, must be submitted in writing to Linda Carpenter at the same address by 1 January 2026. The estate will then be distributed based on known claims.
